Quoting Public Health Director Najibullah Kamawal, a local news agency, Pajhwok Afghan News, said that 15 people were killed and 14 injured due to a blast in the funeral prayer of former district governor of Haskamena district.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the apparent attack, which comes days after at least 41 people were killed and more than 80 wounded in a suicide attack on a Shi'ite cultural centre in the capital Kabul on Thursday.

Islamic State claimed responsibility for that attack.
