BJP to apprise President Pranab Mukherjee of power cuts during Narendra Modi's rally

A 15-member BJP delegation, led by leader of Opposition Gulab Chand kartaria, will submit a memorandum to President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday, enlisting 100 alleged scams that took place during the Gehlot-led Congress government in Rajasthan. Of these scams party leaders will request president to take action in 32 cases in which either FIR has been lodged, or court has taken cognizance
“The memorandum will mention scams during the tenure of Congress government, including scams in Jal Mahal land allotment, Umaid Mill, illegal mining in Jodhpur, Kalpatru, Dalda Mill and Bridge corporation,” said Rajendra Rathore, BJP MLA. BJP had earlier submitted separate memorandums on the matter to the Rajasthan Lokayukta and the Governor, but to no avail, he added.

BJP also alleged that state government observed deliberate power cuts in 70 per cent of villages and cities to interpret the live telecast of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi who was in Jaipur  September 10 in Suraaj Sankalp Sammelen. Party has alleged that state government didn’t want that people to hear Modi’s address.

“It has come to our notice that government observed power cuts more than 70 per cent rural and urban households to interrupt the live telecast of Narenedra Modi in Suraaj Sankalp Samelen on September 10,” said Rajendra Rathore.

Power cuts were done at a time when state has abundant availably of power. On September 10 total availability of power was 1886 lakh units while demand was 1875 lakh units. Despite surplus of 10 lakh units, Rajasthan government made power cuts especially between 11 am to 3 pm, he added. Rathore alleged that power cuts were done at  47 grid stations of 132 KV in jaipur Discom, 37 grid stations of 132 KV at Ajmer Discom and 40 grid stations of 132 kv at Jodhpur Discom.

Rathore alleged that under the influence of state government department of transportation created pressure on bus operators and booking of 140 buses, early booked by party to take people to Jaipur, were cancelled. Similarly buses taking to jaipur were deliberately stopped on highways to check the document.
Rathore alleged that Gram Sabhas were called on September 10 but due to opposition by BJP government has to withdraw their decision.
