BJP plans 'Tiranga Yatra' in Maharashtra districts

Taking a lesson from the Koregaon-Bhima incident, the BJP has decided to launch a campaign to reach out to Dalit and the downtrodden in the state. The party would be holding 'Tiranga Yatra' (Tricolour march) in every district to counter the 'Save Constitution' march by the Opposition.

While addressing a special meeting of the BJP state unit on Tuesday, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has termed the Koregaon-Bhima incident as a conspiracy to destabilise his government. Stating that his government handled the incident and its aftermath ably, Fadnavis cautioned the party that such communal incidents can be repeated and the party should be prepared for tackling it.

Fadnavis asked the party to work for creating social harmony and bring all sections of the society under one flag — the Tricolour.

BJP state unit president Raosaheb Danve informed that the party would take out Tiranga Yatras in all the districts on January 26. He said that people who otherwise gather with their party flags would be brought together under the Tricolour and it would help in reducing communal tensions.

Danve told the media that party workers have been instructed to maintain communal harmony. He said that since the Opposition has no answer for the development seen under BJP rule, they are creating such tensions. Stating that the Opposition's 'Halla Bol' in Nagpur was a flop show, Dave said that BJP would ably retaliate with its Tricolour March in every district.
