“I suspect Dinu Bhogha Solanki, the member of parliament from Junagadh is behind my son’s murder,” Bhiku Batawala, Amit Jethwa’s father said. “The MP had threatened to kill me and my son, as my son had filed many public interest litigations against him,” he said.

Deputy commissioner of police, Brajesh Jha said Jethwa’s maximum activities were concentrated in Saurashtra so they are investigating in that direction. Teams have already left for Saurashtra and have started to corner suspects,” a source said.

The police so far have found out that the bike used by the assailants was stolen from a region close to Saurashtra. The police recovered a country made gun, cartridges, a shirt and the sandals used by the assailants from the murder site. Police has asked for the CCTV coverage of the ATM machine of Axis Bank at the site to find out if the assailants had used it.

Meanwhile, the Congress said that it was a serious issues and demanded thorough investigations to bring the guilty to book.

“If allegations have been made that an RTI activist has been killed at the behest of a BJP MP, it is a serious issue. It should be thoroughly investigated and the guilty should be brought to book,” party spokesman Manish Tewari said.
