RAIPUR: Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh on Tuesday indicated that his party could consider supporting APJ Abdul Kalam if he agrees to run for a second term as President.

''We are ready to support Kalam. Once he agrees for a second term, efforts will be made for a consensus in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in this regard,'' he told reporters at the Mana airport.

The BJP chief's indication comes at a time when vice-president Bhairon Singh Shekhawat has already hinted that he would withdraw from the Presidential election if there is a consensus on President Kalam, as suggested by the Third Front.
