BJP in power in 20 states shows people have endorsed NDA's performance in last 4 years: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the NDA government's commitment to fight corruption has sent 'shivers down the spines of many who have come on one platform'.

Addressing a public rally at the Bali Yatra ground in Odisha's Cuttack on the fourth anniversary of his government, he said that it is moving on the correct path and the people have put their seal of approval on it.

Noting that the NDA government is not afraid of taking tough decisions, Modi said that it is not a government of confusion.

"It is a government of commitment and it has the strength to go for surgical strike", he said.

► It is my good fortune that I got the opportunity to greet my 125 crore countrymen from the land of great Lord Jagannath. The affection of people is what energizes me to work more.

► The NDA government is on correct path; people have put their seal of approval. BJP in power in 20 states shows people have endorsed NDA's performance in last 4 years.

► Many who are in the NDA govt have lived in poverty and that is why betterment of the poor is their biggest priority. The President, Vice President and the Pradhan Sevak have had humble beginnings and that is why the NDA Government is committed to serving the people of the country.

► BJP has over 1,500 legislators across India. In last four years, BJP in true sense has become Panchayat to Parliament party.

► When the government is committed and not confused, a decision like a surgical strike is taken.

► In these four years, the 125 crore Indian have come to believe that our India can change. Today the nation is going from 'Kala Dhan to 'Jan Dhan', from bad governance to good governance.

► NDA government committed to fight corruption; over 3,000 places raided in four years.

► Four former Chief Ministers are behind bars. Those involved in scams are coming together, not for the nation, but for themselves, their families.

► The grand old party only believed in the concept of 'family first instead of country first. "During UPA regime, the Congress party used to run the government through remote control. The Congress party only gave the slogan of 'garibi hatao' instead of serving the poor. Half the people have no gas and electricity, road connection," Modi said.

► Why didn't the Congress realise that the poor are not being entertained at banks? Why didn't the Congress ever see that the lives of poor people also hold value and they also need life insurance?

► There is lack of proper health facilities in several places. The situation is worse here in Odisha. I wonder what were the previous governments doing? Even if the state governments aren't carrying out their responsibilities properly, the centre is doing everything it can in this direction.

► Due to the Mahanadi water dispute, farmers of Odisha are suffering. We are committed to resolve their problems and address the challenges they have to face.
