He demanded that the current BJP government should correct the mistake made by his party.

"We have made a mistake. Let us be magnanimous enough to admit our mistake and correct it," Faleiro, who represents Navelim constituency, told the assembly.

He was speaking during the demands for grants on Home portfolio on the floor of the House today.

Faleiro during his address several times admitted that the congress was instrumental in getting off shore casinos, the claim which was made by chief minister Manohar Parrikar on the floor of the House in the past.

"Just because congress brought them, it does not mean that we should continue with them," said the legislator fearing that the coastal state will become "sin city of India."

"Goa is becoming sin city of India. Scourge of drugs, gambling, prostitution are staring at us. Are we so greedy for the ill-gotten money which we get from them?" he questioned.

Faleiro said the state government should have a policy which will remove the casinos from river Mandovi in a phased manner.
