The complaint stated that IUML leader Kunhalikutty did not mention anything in the column of wife's assets and it was an offence under section 125A of the Representation of the People Act.

The complaint by K Ramachandran, the agent of District President and BJP candidate in the constituency Sreeprakash, sought registration of case for the alleged offence, a party release said.

The complaint was lodged with the Malappuram Sub-Inspector.

Election was necessitated following the death of former Union Minister and IUML leader E Ahamed in February last.
