Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh today utilised the death of MF Husain to take potshots at the BJP alleging that the party supported Hindu "fanatic organisations" that acted against the renowned painter."BJP symbolised that hardcore communal thought ...there were some reactionary organisations which took direct action against Husain""The activists were from hardcore Hindu fanatic organisations which the BJP supports", Singh told reporters.Expressing his condolence over the death of Husain, the former MP chief minister said the painter belonged to Indore in Madhya Pradesh.To a question whether he is blaming BJP for the campaign against Husain, he said that the organisations, which the BJP supports, had a role in it. At the same time, he said that there was no ban on him to come back to India and the government had assured full protection to him.At the AICC briefing, party spokesperson Jayanathi Natarajan steered clear of Singh's remarks.Responding to certain statements from the BJP on Husain, she said there should be no politics on death.She said problems for Husain were created by communal forces like the Shiv Sena and Bajrang Dal.She said in Husain's death, the country has lost a great artist who has made seminal contribution to the world of art.
