NEW DELHI: Accusing Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit of failing to take steps to rein in the Blueline menace in the capital, the opposition BJP on Sunday demanded that she should resign taking full responsibility on the issue.

"We are demanding the resignation of Shiela Dikshit. She is directly responsible for this incident," BJP Secretary Vijay Goel said.

Goel was reacting to the death of seven people caused by a Blueline bus in south Delhi.

"People have been dying almost on a daily basis in accidents caused by blueline buses. The Chief Minister had said that the kilometre scheme for buses would be re-introduced. But, nothing has been done so far. The government has no control over the situation," he said.
