BJP leader and Chennai South parliamentary constituency contestant La Ganesan on Thursday charged Tamil Nadu's ruling AIADMK with booth capturing and bogus voting.

In a statement issued in Chennai, Ganesan said polling was largely peaceful until 1 pm and after that the AIADMK cadre and leaders resorted to booth capturing and bogus voting in the constituency.

Meanwhile Bharatiya Janata Party's state president Pon Radhakrishnan in a statement praised the police and election officials for conducting the polls in an efficient manner. He said except for some instances of electoral malpractices indulged by rival parties, the conduct of poll was largely smooth.

Elections in Tamil Nadu's 39 constituencies was held on Thursday in the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha polls.
