The cabinet meeting that could have taken place in Dehradun in less than Rs 500 was held in Almora and in the process lakhs of rupees were wasted, Bhatt said in a press statement released here.

Bhatt alleged that four choppers were pressed into service for ferrying the ministers to Almora that caused a loss of lakhs of rupees to the state exchequer.

Earlier also Congress government has organised cabinet meeting in Gairsain and wasted lakhs of rupees in the process, Bhatt alleged.

Government wasted Rs 2.21 lakh for its earlier cabinet meet in Gairsain, then Rs 1.99 lakh were wasted for the opening ceremony of Vidhan Bhawan in Gairsain, Bhatt alleged and asked who has benefited from this wastage of money.

The cabinet meet in Almora yesterday was the first in a series of five cabinet meets to be organised outside Dehradun by the Uttarakhand state government.
