During his rallies in four districts in Bihar on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken a jibe on Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav for his controversial remark on beef eating.

He also said that Lalu's statement was against the spirit of Yaduvansh as well as Indian culture where cows are regarded as mothers which caused Lalu to retract his statement.

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has not hit out at PM Modi accusing him of double standard. With reference to India's number one position as a beef exporter, Nitish wrote on the micro-blogging site Twitter that during his tenure beef export increased by 15.4% and yet PM Modi is trying to make beef an issue in Bihar elections. 

On the other hand RJD supremo has challenged PM Modi for an open debate and asked him to answer questions on governance, census, development, social justice and reservation, to which BJP hasn't responded so far.
