Janata Dal (United) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) will contest for 100 seats each while the Congress will fight for 40 seats in the 243 member Assembly, announced Nitish Kumar on Wednesday.

Addressing media, Nitish Kumar said, "A consensus has been developed on seat sharing between all three parties (RJD, JD(U) and Congress) of 'Maha gathbandhan'. JD(U) and RJD will contest for 100 seats, and Congress will contest for 40 seats. The parties would hold a Swabhiman Rally in Patna's Gandhi Maidan on August 30."

Lalu Prasad Yadav said, "Wherever there are differences, Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav will sit together and solve it. We are united and will defeat the BJP."

Criticising PM Modi for his DNA remarks, Lalu said, "The PM has insulted the people of Bihar, the people will teach him a lesson."

Stating that the people who have insulted him have insulted Bihar, Nitish Kumar added, "We will keep our promise before the people. PM Modi should tell what he has done in the last 15 months. We will seek the votes from people on the basis of the work we have done."

Congress leader CP Joshi said that the party leadership will also participate in Maha Gathbandhan's first rally (Swabhimaan rally) to be held at Gandhi Maidan.
