Bihar Police arrested two Bangladeshi nationals

A team of Bihar Police arrested two Bangladeshi nationals, who were travelling on fake Indian identifications and seized documents related to various terror groups including the ISIS, the police said on Monday.

The duo, identified as Khairul Mandal and Abu Sultan of Chapatalla, Jhenauda in Bangladesh, are allegedly members of the Islamic State Bangladesh (ISBD). "The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS)-Bihar had received specific information that two Bangladeshi youth were on the move around the Patna railway junction area and a team of senior officials arrested them from near Madani Musafirkhana," an official source confirmed.

The source said, "In course of the investigation, the two admitted to being active members of ISBD and banned Jamiyat-ul-Mujahideen, Bangladesh, some of whose members were arrested by Bangladesh police for different terrorist activities. They said they were touring West Bengal, Kerala, Delhi and Bihar, in search of recruits. They were in Bodh Gaya for 11 days for a recce of Buddhist sites where they could effect terror activities. They said they wanted to go to Syria to join ISIS for Jehad."

The police said neither Mandal nor Sultan had passport, visa or any other valid travel documents. "They illegally crossed the border. However, had fake Indian voter identity cards and one fake PAN card apart from three mobile phones, a memory card," the cops said.

"They had a train ticket from New Delhi to Howrah and Gaya to Patna and bus ticket from Kolkata to Gaya. Also found in their possession was details of deployment orders of paramilitary forces in Jammu and Kashmir after the Pulwama attack and posters and pamphlets related to the ISIS and other terror outfits," the source said and added, ahead of general election every suspicious activity is being monitored.
