PATNA: Mystery shrouds the disappearance of Kumari Archana, a newly-wed woman. Archana had gone missing on Monday night from the sleeper class of Patna Express while her husband was still asleep.

Archana, the daughter of an additional district and sessions judge, Subhash Chandra Prasad was returning from her honeymoon to Darjeeling along with her husband Rajeev Kumar, a trainee section engineer in the Indian Railways.

Kumar suspects that his wife had been abducted from the running train. On his complaint, the railway police at Mokama had lodged a case of kidnapping and investigations were on to ascertain the facts of the case. The police have launched a hunt for Archana and have been checking all the hospitals as well.

There are many theories on which the police are working which includes suicide, elopement and also some foul play by the husband. But the Railway Police IG AS Nimbran ruled out kidnapping, saying that it was quite impossible that a woman would be forcibly abducted without alerting her husband, sleeping on the lower berth, or the fellow passengers in that coach.

Archana was married on April 28 this year. But since her husband was still undergoing his training at Jodhpur, she lived with his parents at Patna. Kumar said Archana was quite depressed after she failed to get a job. So, he planned to take her out for a trip to Darjeeling. Archana went missing on their journey back home.
