Bihar election victory speech: Prime Minister Narendra Modi hails women support

After the National Democratic Alliance regained power in Bihar by winning 125 out of the 243 assembly seats, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed party workers at BJP headquarters in Delhi today. 

The PM hailed the democratic process in the country and credited the Election Commission for handling elections efficiently. 

"The elections that happen in India is unparalleled in the world. So, I want to thank every single person and the Election Commission and state officials who ensured that the election process was a success and was done so in a peaceful manner, " said the PM.

Modi was all praise for the women voters of Bihar calling them silent supporters of the BJP. "You must have read in the news media about 'silent voters' voting for BJP. The voice of this 'silent voter' is now being heard by all. The BJP has a big base of this 'silent voter' - and they are women voters. Women are seeing the work we are doing. How we are working to ensure that they get all their rights, they get their say, and they play their equal part in society. They are seeing who truly stands for them," he said at the address.

Thanking the people of Bihar the PM said, "I just want to say that Bihar is dear to us. It is close to our hearts."

During the address, the Prime Minister again stressed on the idea of how BJP has been taking every section of the society together on the path of success. 

"The success in Bihar has made one thing clear that the key to success is 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwaas'. That is the mantra that guides us, and that is what we are determined to, and that is what rewards us too," said Modi.

The BJP, with 74 seats, emerged as the second-largest party while its alliance partner Janata Dal (United) secured 43 seats. Tejashwi Yadav's RJD grabbed 75 seats. 

The Mahagathbandhan or the Grand Alliance that includes RJD and Congress won 110 seats.
