Bihar Assembly Election 2020: Congress releases list of 30-star campaigners

The Congress has released its list of star campaigners for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2020. In this list of star campaigners, 30 leaders including Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Mirakumar and Shatrughan Sinha have got a place.

According to sources, the list of start campaigners has been shared by the Congress with the Election Commission of India. 

Some other names in the list are Ghulam Nabi Azad, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Shakeel Ahmed, Shaktisinh Gohil, Raj Babbar, Pramod Tiwari, Sachin Pilot, Ashok Gehlot and Captain Amarinder Singh.

Bhupesh Baghel, Madan Mohan Jha, Tariq Anwar, former Governor Nikhil Kumar, Sadanand Singh, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Sanjay Nirupam, Kirti Azad, Udit Raj, Imran Pratapgarhi, Prem Chand Mishra, Anil Sharma, Ajay Kapoor, and Virender Singh Rathore are also in the list of 30-star campaigners.

Former Governor Nikhil Kumar, Sadanand Singh, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Kirti Azad, Sanjay Nirupam, Udit Raj, Imran Pratapgarhi, Prem Chand Mishra, Anil Sharma, Ajay Kapoor, and Virender Singh Rathore are also on the list.

The parties will have to inform the district administration 48 hours prior to launching their campaign.

It is noteworthy that Congress released the first list of 21 candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections on Wednesday (October 7, 2020). Congress is contesting 70 seats in Bihar elections in alliance with RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) and Left parties.


Amid the Corona crisis, the Election Commission announced the Bihar assembly election dates on September 25. The first phase of voting will be held on October 28 in the state, while the second phase is scheduled for November 3 and the last phase will take place on November 7. The result will be announced on November 10.

Making a small change, the Election Commission has increased the time for voting in the state by an hour from seven in the morning to six in the evening. The rule will not apply in Naxalite affected areas. Other security arrangements have also been made.
