A massive fire broke out at a plastic chair manufacturing factory in Bhopal on Thursday afternoon.

According to reports, the factory is situated close to the Union Carbide factory, where the Bhopal gas tragedy of 1984 took place. Though no injuries have been reported so far, fire tenders have reached the spot and are trying to douse the flames.

The factory is situated in a residential area in Old Bhopal. Evacuation of buildings around the factory have been ordered by the police.

According to a Dainik Bhaskar report, the estimated damage in the factory has been pegged at Rs 4 crores.
