Maharashtra state government would start various schemes under Amrut and Urban Renewal Mission with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis going for e-Bhoomipujan of schemes worth Rs. 1622 crores for 28 cities from his official bungalow Varsha in Mumbai on Thursday.

The schemes include water supply schemes, river beautification, underground drainage system which would be kickstarted electronically by web casting. Fadnavis will also interact with people from the 28 cities. 

Principal secretary to Urban Development department, Manisha Patankar-Mhaiskar informed that growing urbanisation is posing various challenges to Governments at various levels. 28 cities including Ambarnath, Kulgaon Badlapur, Nashik, Hinganghat, Ichalkaranji, Akola, Jalgaon, Yavatmal Chikhaldara, Roha, Sengaon, Dondaicha, Sindkheda, Malegaon would witness the e-Bhoomipujan. The elected representatives from these cities are expected to attend the program.
