Criticising the increase in petroleum product prices in the Union budget, the Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) today said it would directly affect farmers."Farmers depend on diesel for irrigation and making it expensive will hit them hard," BKU president Mahendra Singh Tikait said.Describing the budget as "anti-people", he said increase in fuel prices would have a cascading effect on the cost of all essential commodities.
