Chief of Army Staff Gen Bikram Singh on Thursday expressed his confidence in the level of operational preparedness of the Army and exhorted the commanders to be dynamic in thought process and approach to meet the future challenges.

Gen Singh was addressing officers of Mhow garrison after inaugurating the new office complex of The Infantry School on Thursday.

The chief of army staff also stressed on treating the veterans with dignity and honour and consider them as members of our extended family.

Earlier during the day, Gen Singh attended the 32nd Infantry Commander's Conference continued on Thursday at The Infantry School, Mhow.

He was received at the venue of the conference by Director General of Infantry and Commandant, Infantry School.

The proceedings of the conference started with a welcome note and update by the DG Infantry. Thereafter, issues such as modernisation of Infantry, the future perspective to include issues such as training orientation and human resource development were discussed.

The conference concluded with the closing address by the Chief of the Army Staff, in which he emphasised on the need of enhanced and continuous operational preparedness and human resource management. The conference is a biennial event organised by the Infantry School, Mhow on behalf of the Infantry Directorate.

The conference is aimed at taking a holistic review of operational, training and management aspects of the Infantry which is crucial to its retaining, maintaining and enhancing the role as an 'ULTIMATE ARM'. It was attended by a cross section of Infantry Officers, including the senior officers, formation commanders and Commanding Officers. The deliberations will continue on Friday.
