This is the first time in India a mobile app is being used to gather polling information. Officials at every booth will now update voter turnout and any other information using the app, on an hourly basis. This info will also be updated on the BBMP website and be shared with the State Election Commission as well.

Commissioner Naik said that the BBMP officials at the booths can alert them in case of any issues with electronic voting machines or law and order. Security has already been tightened at various places in the city ahead of the elections.
