A 42-year-old businessman allegedly committed suicide by hanging in his sister-in-law's house today, police said.The deceased was identified as Shamegowda. He was a small time businessman, police said."He had been invited by his sister-in-law for lunch. When she went to a nearby shop to get some vegetables, he hung himself from the ceiling fan in their house", police said.Shamegowda is survived by wife and two children.According to his neighbours, Shamegowda had incurred a lot of debt. "His inability to pay back the debt, could have led him to end his life",  police said, quoting neighbours.
