The project "BANANA 4 GROWTH" with an estimated cost of Rs 99 lakh is funded by Port Authorities of Triests, Italy.

The Rope Conveyor is one of the safest mode of post harvest management of Banana bunches that is going to be tested and implemented in Cumbam valley of Theni District, a Tamil Nadu Agricultural University release said here.

The farm fresh banana fruits harvested under the projects are to be exported to European countries.

A proto type will be ready within six months and will be tested at the farm level for its efficient operation, the release said.
