The case was first given until 31st August for the process of the trial to be completed. On Friday, the CBI had filed a report in a special court in connection with the demolition of the disputed structure at Ayodhya.

A total of 32 people, including high-profile politicians like L.K. Advani, Kalyan Singh, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti, Vinay Katiyar, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, and Sadhvi Rithambhara, have been accused in the criminal case regarding the demolition of the disputed mosque on December 6, 1992.

The 16th-century Babri Masjid in the city of Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, was targeted after a political rally organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Following the rally, the crowd suddenly turned violent and tore don the mosque, which resulted in entire decades of communal tensions across India's fabric.
