Yoga guru Ramdev will visit Chicago to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and the 120th anniversary of his famous address at the World Parliament of Religions.
The event, 'World Without Borders 2013' on September 27-28, is hosted by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America and co-hosted by other Indo-American organisations to share Swami Vivekananda's philosophy of a world without borders.
The Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions has disassociated itself from the event, saying it was co-sponsored by groups "promoting controversial political positions".
Ramdev will present a discourse at the Jain Temple in Bartlett, a suburb in Chicago, on September 28.
He will also take part in celebrations in Houston before he arrives to Chicago and then travel to New Jersey for the Dharma & Yoga Fest. He will later go to Atlanta for the evening program before flying back to India.
Ramdev, while en route to Chicago from London, was detained by authorities at London's Heathrow airport.
