At 21, Mayank Pratap Singh becomes Rajasthan's youngest judge, clears Judicial Services exam in first attempt

In a first, a 21-year-old boy, Mayank Pratap Singh, became the youngest person to top the Rajasthan Judicial Services (RJS) 2018 examination.

Hailing from the Mansarovar area of Jaipur, he cleared the exam in his first attempt.

The Rajasthan High Court this year reduced the minimum age for the examination from 23 to 21 years. He said to ANI that his joining the judicial service at such an early age will give him more time to learn and work for more people in his career.

"I was always drawn towards the judicial services going by the importance and respect reserved for the judges in the society. I took admission in 2014 in the five-year LLB course from the Rajasthan University, which ended this year," ANI quoted Singh as saying on Thursday.

"I could appear in the exam only because the minimum age was reduced. Had it not been so then I would not have been eligible. I think it will benefit me because now I will get more time to learn and do more work and serve more people in my career because I joined at such a young age," he added.

Following closely on Mayank's heels, two female candidates Tanvi Mathur and Deeksha Madan became the second and third topper respectively.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot congratulated the toppers on their spectacular performance in the exam. He tweeted, " Congratulations to Mayank Pratap Singh, who has topped RJS examination 2018, to Tanvi Mathur and Deeksha Madaan, who secured 2nd and 3rd positions respectively as well as all other successful candidates. Best wishes to all of you for a successful career."
