Assam Rifles neutralised two United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) militants and apprehended six others in Arunchal Pradesh in an operation held on Wednesday.

In the operations launched by the troops of Assam Rifles in the dense forest of Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh around 1.30pm, two militants were gunned down. This apart, six other militants, including a woman, were apprehended by the security agencies. 

During the operations, one AK rifle and one pistol were recovered from the possession of the militants. 

Meanwhile, the operations were still on till the last reports came in. 

A day ago, a battalion of Assam Rifles had destroyed a camp of another militant outfit - National Socialist Council of Nagaland Khaplang (NSCN-K) in the same area. 

A huge cache of ammunition, radio sets with batteries, insurgent combat uniforms, belts and backpack were recovered.
