Army chief General VK Singh today said he has not yet seen the Armed Forces Tribunal's report on the Kargil war and declined to comment on the issue before going through the facts."The tribunal has given its decision regarding Kargil. I have not seen the report and it will not be proper on my part to comment on it till I go through the facts," he told reporters here. The Tribunal has indicted former 15 Corps Commander Lt Gen Kishan Pal for showing bias against Brigadier Devinder Singh, who led the Batalik-based 70 Infantry Brigade during the Kargil operation, and fudging battle accounts of the 1999 conflict."Many times things are exaggerated and therefore it is improper to comment on it (the report) without going into details," the chief of army staff said.On the deployment of army to fight Naxals, Singh said a decision on the issue would have to be taken at the political level.Asked if Maoist attacks were on the rise, the army chief said it would be better if this question was put to the states where they are occurring.Singh was here to appear in viva as a prelude to obtain a PhD in Military Science from the Barkatullah University.
