Are rebels in the Gujarat milk federation planning to seek Bhatol's resignation?

Apparently, it seems that the requisite meeting called by Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) on June 30 will not solve the basic demand of the rebels. 

Of the 13 milk unions, chiefs of ten dairy district unions have made a separate agenda of removing the chairman of the federation, Parthi Bhatol, from his post.

It seems that the image of the Rs8,000 crore co-operative body is getting murky. A circular in English, which DNA has seen, reveals that the 10 rebels have chalked out a plan for removing Bhatol as chairman of GCMMF.

The circular says that there are possibilities that chairman (Bhatol) may be asked to step down. "A no confidence motion may be moved against chairman, or the board may recommend the state registrar to appoint a custodian to safeguard the interest of the federation and recommend election of new chairman within two months," says the circular.

None of the federation officials were willing to comment on this, but sources close to the development revealed that these ten district union chairmen are planning to call for another requisite meeting with agenda of either new elections or asking Bhatol to step down.

The June 30 meeting is a requisite meeting with a one-liner agenda, 'BM Vyas resignation on April 29, 2010'.

At this meeting the board will not be able to discuss any other issue but resignation of Vyas. For another agenda, board members will have to send request for another requisite meeting, sources said.
