Security forces today seized about 600 rounds of ammunition and few grenades during an anti-Naxal operation in Jharkhand's Palamu district, officials said.

They said the operation was jointly carried out by a squad of the CRPF and state police in Salaia forest area of the district where troops busted a suspected Maoist hideout.

599 bullet rounds of various calibres, five hand grenades and 127 grenade base plugs were seized after the raid, a senior security official said.

Another official said personnel of the 134th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Palamu police were part of the operation.
