Andhra Pradesh Express caught fire near Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh

Passengers of Delhi-Visakhapatnam Andhra Pradesh Express had a major scare on Monday after 2 coaches of the train caught fire near Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. Railway PRO Manoj Kumar said a high-tension wire fell on the train resulting in the blaze starting from B6 and B7 bogies. The incident happened when it was near Birlanagar railway station, a few kilometres from Gwalior. The train was stopped and all the passengers were evacuated by railway officials.
Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot which managed to douse the fire.
"The fire spread from B-6 to B-5 coaches. Six coaches were segregated and sent to Gwalior. All passengers in the affected coaches were evacuated, No injuries have been reported so far," said Ved Prakash, director, publicity, Railway Board.

The Delhi-Gwalior railway route has been closed due to the incident. While no trains have been cancelled, some trains have been delayed due to the closing of the railway line.
