On a three-day tour to state, Shah appealed to the farmers to vote for the Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a farmers’ conference in Nagaur.
Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) national president Amit Shah on Tuesday told the farmers in Nagaur that “if you want to double your income by 2022, then make Narendra Modi once again Prime Minister. Only the BJP government cares for the farmers, he said, adding that the BJP knows to change the electoral slogans in reality.
On a three-day tour to state, Shah appealed to the farmers to vote for the Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a farmers’ conference in Nagaur.
“Me and my party owe a debt to Rajasthan. The people of Rajasthan helped the BJP sweep 2014 Lok Sabha polls by electing party’s candidates from all 25 seats.
“This gave absolute majority of BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre. If there were no 25 MPs from Rajasthan, then there would have been a weak government and such governments do not work,” Shah said, thanking the people of the state for giving all Lok Sabha seats to BJP.
He also requested them to vote for the party in upcoming assembly and Lok Sabha polls “I thank you for this. In the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly elections, you all give support and help BJP form governments in the state at the Centre,” said Shah.
He said that from the time of Jana Sangh, party had given the slogan of “the prosperous farmer, prosperous country”. The BJP governments have always worked on the concept of a prosperous farmer. After forming the government at the Centre, Prime Minister Modi said in the first speech that by 2022 the income of farmers will be doubled. Shah said that the slogans of BJP and Modi are not only election slogans. “We know the slogans convert in reality.”
“Congress governments can never do good to farmers. In the last 70 years, the farmers have been benefited only by BJP governments,” said Shah.
He cited the work done by the Centre and the state government for agriculture and farmers.
Shah paid tributes to Mira Bai, Tejaji Maharaj and Amar Singh Rathore at the beginning of his address and called Rajasthan as “a great Rajasthan”.
Shah alleged that the Congress used to black market urea. But, now farmers are getting urea easily. Pointing the achievements of the Central and State governments, he mentioned the minimum support price, crop insurance scheme, loan waiver, disaster relief compensation, and other plans for the farmers.
