An American national was arrested today for allegedly carrying five live cartridges when he was about to board a Delhi bound flight from the airport here.

SHO Parmdeep Kaur said that during the preliminary investigations George David Gilbert, resident of New York, told the police that he was shooter and had inadvertently carried the .38 bore cartridges.

She said the bullets were found during the screening of Gilbert's luggage at the airport.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which looks after the airport security handed over the American national to the Punjab police which registered a case under relevant sections and arrested him, the official said.
