On the sidelines of his Sangat Darshan programme, he termed declaration regarding establishment of AIIMS at Bathinda as a major achievement of Badal government and said that with the coming up of this reputed institution in Punjab, the healthcare facilities would be more strengthened in the state.

About drugs tests during police recruitment, the Deputy Chief Minister said the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) were out to defame Punjab on the pretext of drug abuse whereas now it has been made clear even in the parliament that Maharashtra topped the chart in deaths owing to drugs' usage and Punjab was far away at more than 10 spots lower.
