Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a poll rally in Rahul Gandhi's bastion Amethi in Uttar Pradesh and launched several development projects on Sunday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit out at the opposition and previous Congress-led governments saying that they failed to fulfill promises made and generate employment for the people of Amethi.

Indirectly taking a jibe at Congress president Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi said that some people just travel around the world and talks about 'Made in Ujjain', 'Made in Jaipur', Made in Jaisalmer'... but nothing happens and talks remains just talks, its under Modi government now when 'Made in Amethi' AK-203 rifles will be manufactured.

Ordnance Factory Board in joint venture with Russia's Kalashnikov Concern will manufacture the 7.62x39 mm caliber AK-203 guns at Korwa #Amethi UP.

Speaking about advanced rifles for the army, PM Modi said that the armed forces in 2005 had asked the then government for advanced weapons. In 2007, Amethi's MP had said that the work in the ordinance factory will commence by 2010, but for 3 years, they were not able to decide what kind of weapon they have to made in the ordinance factory.
Further slamming the opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Some people have the habit of forgetting the public after getting votes. They want to keep the poor in poverty so they can say 'gareebi hatao' (remove poverty) generation after generation. We are giving strength to the poor to bring them out of poverty."
