Air India is likely to get a new chief operating officer in the next 10 days, a senior civil aviation official said here today.    Today, we interviewed three candidates for the COO post but nothing is decided. We will take a decision sooner or later," the official said adding, "it may be in the next 10 days".The candidates interviewed were VP of flight operations in Jet Airways Gustav Baldauf, senior director of marketing in Air Canada George Reeleder and chief officer (commercial) Malta Airways Brock Friesen.The official said a lot of due diligence is being carried out on the final selection.

National Aviation company of India Ltd (NACIL), the holding company formed after the marger of Indian airlines and Air India in 2007, will choose the COO. 

The Air India management comprising civil aviation secretary M Madhavan Nambiar and Air India CMD Arvind Jadhav along with industrialist Sajjan Jindal, Uday Kotak and Anand Mahindra conducted the interview of the three candidates.
