The Tamil Nadu government today announced a financial assistance of Rs5lakh to the family of a CRPF jawan recently killed in a militant attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

R Rajasekar of Tiruvannamalai district was killed when he was shot at point blank range by militants on August 31 near the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly complex.

The chief minister announced the aid from the Kargil Relief Fund after considering the impoverished conditions of Rajasekar's family. He has also ordered for providing a job to the slain jawan's wife in a local government school, a statement said here.
