The Madurai legislator filed the complained at Koovathur Police Station in Kanchipooram under the Section 342, 343, 365, 353 & 503 (1) of the Indian Penal Code.

Saravanan joined caretaker Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam's camp on Monday evening where he revealed that he was one of the MLAs who were caged in private resort at Koovathur.

In a major blow to Sasikala earlier today, the Supreme Court rejected her plea for more time to surrender before a Bengaluru court. She may, however, seek two weeks time on health grounds.

The Supreme Court had convicted Sasikala in connection with a 19-year old disproportionate assets case. A bench of Justices PC Ghose and AK Roy directed them to surrender forthwith to the trial court in Bengaluru and serve the remaining part of the four-year-jail term.

Consequently, Sasikala will not be able to contest for 10 years.
