AIADMK today decided to field Manoj Pandian and KV Ramalingam as its candidates for the June 17 Rajya Sabja polls from Tamil Nadu.Manoj Pandian, son of former assembly speaker PH Pandian, is a former MLA while Ramalingam is the AIADMK Erode district secretary.AIADMK has received the support of its allies, the Vaiko-led MDMK and the two Left parties for its candidates. The tenure of six Rajya Sabha MPs- TTV Dinakaran, K Malaisamy, NR Govindarajar and S Anbalagan (all AIADMK), former Union health minister Dr Anbumani Ramadoss (PMK) and E Sudarsana Nachiappan (Congress) will end on June 29.AIADMK is assured of two Rajya Sabha seats by virtue of its strength of 57 MLAs, including two of its dissidents and the combined strength of its allies.    Nominations for the biennial elections to elect the six members commenced on May 31 and voting, if necessary, will be held on June 17.
