Around 9,949 students will appear for these examinations at 58 centres in the city, informed RI Patel, district education officer, Ahmedabad. The higher secondary board has also decided to set up video surveillance at all 496 blocks where the exams are to be conducted.

“If any examination centre has 30% or more students from the same school, the centre’s administrator and staff will be changed. There will be only 20 students per examination block and everyone’s paper will be different, owing to the recently introduced Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) system,” said Patel.

He further informed that only two students so far have requested for writers. Their medical condition has been checked. Apart from the vigilance squad, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board flying squad will also oversee proceedings at the centres.
