Ahmedabad man threatens to turn into a eunuch

So long you’ve hearing about suicides and divorces resulting from nagging or monetary woes, but ever heard of changing sex? Never? Well, in that case, meet Pushpa Vaghela, 25, a resident of Luharnagar, Dudheshwar in Madhavpura who has shot off a desperate application to the cops, complaining that her husband, Suresh, has intentions of transforming into a eunuch to avoid discharging his marital duties as the sole bread winner of the family!

However, Suresh had his side of alibis to stand by his threat. He alleged that his carpentry income wasn’t lucrative enough to make ends meet, but instead of helping him, Pushpa, his wife taunted him as not being ‘potent’ enough to earn enough to take good care of his two children. The constant nag and the impotency taunt is what that has goaded him to think in that direction, he claims.

On the other hand, in her application to the woman police, Pushpa has alleged that Suresh is irregular at finding work which has brought financial ruin upon their family and to shirk responsibilities further has made this new threat. The women cops conducted a preliminary probe into this weird allegation and were able to confirm that Suresh, had indeed been hobnobbing with a group of eunuchs lately, particularly a group spearheaded by one Niaz. According to them, Suresh has already been rechristened as Suraiya by the group. But Niaz, it is understood, has given Suresh some more time to give the decision a second thought.
The women cops then also met Suresh in person to hear his side of the story. Suresh told them that if Pushpa, who is presently living at her parents’ home, agrees to come back to him, he will reach a compromise with her and would continue to fulfill his marital vows. However, Pushpa has rejected the proposal outright, stating monetary difficulties with him. In fact, she has further alleged that Suresh’s demeanour is modeled on the lines of eunuchs and he is already reveling in their company.
Suresh’s parents, when contacted by DNA, refused to talk about the matter. They are scared that media publicity may only bring more infamy for the family. Father, Natwar Vaghela, said, “My son agreed to pay Rs3,000 per month, but Pushpa still refuses to reconcile with him. She keeps saying that my son is impotent but if that is the case, where did the two children come from?” According to the harassed father, Suresh is resorting to such radical steps frustrated by Pushpa’s intransigence.
