The students of Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT), Gandhinagar, will give 'Synapse,' their annual technical and cultural festival, a social turn this time round.

They organised a run on Sunday and a campaign for the youth. It aimed at inspiring them to serve the society and spread awareness about environment and health before the commencement of the annual fest on February 25.

The social initiatives was named Youth Run and Youth Campaign, respectively. With the motto of 'Believe, Change and Run,' DA-IICT students aimed at inspiring and channelising the energy that is synonymous with them to bring about positive change in the society.

Danny George, media coordinator for the Youth Run, said, "Synapse has always had been a mix of technical and cultural events. However, from this year, we want youngsters to think beyond the obvious and be useful to the society."

This event had a five km and an eight km run from Gh-0 to Gh-4 in Gandhinagar. The run started at 7:10am and passed by Vidhan Sabha Bhavan and a few other land marks.

"The run was followed up by a seminar,” said George. Various non-governmental organisations, schools and colleges have joined hands with DA-IICT in their endeavor by sending their students for the run and campaign.
