The Enforcement Directorate (ED) Friday moved the Delhi Court to revoke the "approver" status of Rajiv Saxena in connection with the Agusta Westland money laundering case.

In the plea filed by the ED, the investigation agency alleged that Rajiv Saxena withheld information, and misled the probe in the VVIP chopper scandal.

According to a news agency, the Enforcement Directorate filed the plea in a sealed cover before the Special CBI Judge Arvind Kumar.

Earlier on July 15, ED approached the Delhi court seeking cancellation of bail granted to Saxena in February when he offered to turn approver in the case.

The Delhi court will be hearing ED's plea seeking cancellation of bail granted to Saxena along with the plea filed by the investigative agency to revoke the "approver" status on October 21.

In his bail plea, Saxena had said that he had been cooperating with the investigative agency and had been providing all necessary information for the investigation. He is, therefore, not required for further custodial interrogation, the bail plea noted.

Saxena's Counsel Senior advocate Geeta Luthra had argued that he was seeking bail on medical grounds. "He is an extremely sick person with advanced terminal diseases. The applicant has coronary heart disease with four stents in his heart and hypertension," Saxena's counsel had informed the court.

"The applicant (Rajiv Saxena) also has advanced stage leukemia (blood cancer) and is terminally ill. The applicant is suffering radiating back pain, numbness, and heaviness in legs, neck pain and muscle spasms," stated the bail plea filed in the court.

The Dubai-based businessman was extradited to India on January 31 in connection with the alleged scam relating to the purchase of 12 VVIP helicopters from AgustaWestland amounting to Rs 3,600 crore.
