Vij, who has taken on his own government many times in the past, said, "Often, honest people are accused of wrongdoing and some people are bent upon proving them as wrongdoers," adding that Khemka is the "most honest officer". "Truth always prevails and honesty never goes in vain," said the BJP MLA from Ambala Cantonment.

In the past too, Vij has come out in Khemka's support on various issues. Regarding the latest chargesheet, dated July 1 and served on Khemka on July 8 for allegedly causing avoidable financial loss to Haryana Seed Development Corporation (HSDC) in 2012-13 on account of unsold stocks of wheat seeds, Vij said he would take up the matter with the party high-command.
