After the father of Pakistan's nuclear arms Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan claimed that Pakistan could target New Delhi in just five minutes, the country's envoy to India, Abdul Basit said that war is not a solution between India and Pakistan. " War is not a solution between both (India-Pakistan) countries, only foolish people would consider war as a solution to the problems."

He also spoke about the Pathankot incident and the Indo-Pak talks. "Five months have passed to Pathankot (attack) but the dialogue process between India and Pakistan has not resumed. We're maintaining cooperation on Pathankot, let's hope we'll be able to get to the bottom of that incident.  We hope that the dialogue process will resume, because all our issues can be resolved through talks."
