Senior lawyer Uday U Lalit, whose name has been recommended for appointment as a Supreme Court judge, has famously represented Amit Shah in the Tulsi Prajapati encounter case. However, according to news reports, it has been clarified that Uday Lalit did not represent Amit Shah in Sohrabuddin fake encounter case.

Amit Shah who was elevated as BJP's President and faces charges of murder and conspiracy in both cases.

Here are some key facts about him: 

*Advocate Uday Lalit appeared from state government side opposing the bail plea of Dr Binayak Sen.

*Lalit appeared for actor Salman Khan in the black buck poaching case in 1998 killing of two Chinkara deer and a black buck during a film shooting in Rajasthan. 

*He appeared for former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh in the corruption case

*He appeared for former cricketer and BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu in culpable homicide not amounting to murder case.

*Lalit represents the black money king pin Hasan Ali too. 

*Lalit had been in the lawyer's panel for the Maharashtra government and the Centre for 15 years and five years respectively

*Uday U Lalit was appointed for one of the biggest scam in the history of India. The Rs1.76 lakh crores scam involves many politicians, bureaucrats and a few telecom companies.

*The appointment of Uday U Lalit as a special prosecutor had caused disagreement among the government authorities.

*It was said that the union government is not happy with his appointment and believed that the appointment should be cancelled immediately. But the Supreme Court and the Central Bureau of Investigation had reiterated that they do not have any objection with the appointment of Uday U Lalit.
