Senior BJP leader LK Advani today hailed the party's victory in the recent Bruhut Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (city corporation) elections.

"People have reposed faith on the BJP government in the state for the development works initiated by it", Advani told reporters.

With this the BJP has scored victory in assembly elections, assembly bypolls and also in civic elections, Advani, who was on his way to Bagalkot to attend the Veerashaiva conference being held at Shivayogi mandir said.

BJP general secretary HN Ananthkumar, MP and chief minister BS Yeddyurappa accompanied Advani.

The ruling BJP won 112 of the 198 BBMP seats in the March 28 civic polls, registering its maiden victory nearly two years after it created history by forming the first saffron government in the south.
