Delhi University student union leader allegedly manhandled a professor at prestigious Sri Ram College of Commerce over use of sports facility on the campus.Union leader Satender Awana of the ABVP attacked sports teacher professor Vineet Mehta. Mehta was later admitted to Hindu Rao Hospital and was discharged after first aid.

Mehta alleged that Awana along with seven other students entered the sports facility area and demanded the swimming pool facility be made available to them. "I told them that the concerned professor was awayand that they should come later. On this they lost their cool and started abusing and manhandling me," said the professor.

The professor also alleged that the boys wanted to use the facility without paying any charges, which he could not permit.

The student union leader however alleged that he was also roughed up by the professor. "We requested professor Mehta to give us the phone number of the concerned professor. But he refused to do so and startedabusing us," said Awana.

Both parties later approached the local police station to register their complaint. "Both parties are playing victim and want to register an FIR. We are hearing them out, an FIR will be filed accordingly,"said a police officer at Maurice Nagar police station.
